Ever wondered how or where the idea for a book, or even a series, might have originated? Sometimes it can have come from the smallest spark of an idea, a memory or perhaps something you’ve witnessed or experienced. For me, the Lexicon Series story-line began a few years ago with a 1,500 word assignment I was tasked with as part of a Creative Writing Course. Yes, that’s right. Just 1,500 words! My! How those few words have mushroomed; now a…..
To the young readers I met at a lovely summer gathering yesterday, it was great to be able to have a chat with you, albeit a brief one, I do hope you enjoy the books. Leave a comment or question here and I promise to get back to you. Happy reading!
With the weather reluctant to ‘play ball’ here in the UK, perhaps becoming immersed in a gripping adventure that a book can provide would be a good way to fill the hours until the sunshine deigns to show its face again. Still not sure? Then ‘dip your toe in the water’ as they say by giving The Librarius Quest a try first, then if you enjoyed that, follow on with The Curse of The Blethewytch, a book guaranteed to draw…..
Following a roller-coaster couple of months, during which the website was down, things are slowly getting back to normal, well in some areas at least, while others remain somewhat chaotic. But no matter; that’s the way life goes I guess! On the book front, I have decided that more needs to be done on Book 4 and that re-reads, editing etc can only improve what’s there. I often recall the words I heard uttered by one very successful author that…..
Prologue The young man could often be spotted sitting on a park bench; a lone figure, deep in thought. He was reflecting upon a particular day in his past; a special memory, its true significance a secret to all but himself. Back then, and just a normal 12-year-old who happened to love books, it never occurred to him that that single event would change his life forever………… Start the adventure by having a read of The Librarius Quest. Enjoy!
Have you checked out my book trailer yet? No! Then why not catch up with a visit to YOUTUBE.COM Anne Wall / The Curse of The Bletherwytch. I would love to hear your comments. You could also visit my Amazon Author Page where a peep inside all three books is available, The Librarius Quest, The Curse of The Bletherwytch and also The Witch’s Blood. Better still, how about buying a copy. Now that would be really good. Besides, they’re really…..
Welcome to 2023 everyone. I do hope it will be a happy, healthy and peaceful one for all my readers and followers. Not only that, I also hope you will continue to enjoy the great adventures that reading a good book brings as the storyline fires the imagination, bringing with it expectations of many exciting outcomes as you navigate the twists and turns of the mysterious tales it has to tell. Oh, and don’t forget, all three books, The Librarius…..
After months of hard work, the series has finally reached its conclusion. Following several re-reads and lots of corrections and changes later, I am satisfied that it’s done – well until I decide on another re-read that is! A writer can never be truly satisfied. As I’ve highlighted before, reading my work out loud really helps to make sense of my writings and iron out any wrinkles as it were! And so the work continues, of course, and hopefully the…..
How’s this for an idea? I love reading my books out loud, meaning I can become involved in every second of the action as it unfolds, interpreting every intrigue in my own special way. Do you have friends who also love to read? With the holidays now upon us, how about setting up a book reading group, thus giving you and your friends the opportunity not only to meet up, but also to react to a storyline in their own…..
As I settle down to write this, temperatures in the UK are predicted to shoot off the scale. Too warm for you? Me too. So with a shady corner found, a cooling drink begging to be supped and a favourite book waiting to be read, you’ve got it made. It’s time to chill – literally!
