One boy, four nail-biting quests, an ancient artefact under threat of destruction, not to mention a diorama, witches galore, a creeping darkness and a lost monastery all in the mix, could all this and much more besides have something to do with how it will all end for Alfie Tucker in my LEXICON SERIES? The Librarius Quest, The Curse of The Bletherwytch and also The Witch’s Blood, are the first three books in this gripping series and with a fourth…..
Getting the ending right, especially when bringing a 4-book series to a conclusion that will please, is not easy – a challenge I have been wrestling with for a while. With the umpteenth read-through beckoning (a vital task) to check that every detail, every character, every situation, every outcome not only connects, but also makes sense, it’s fingers crossed I’m nearly there! Wishing all my readers a brilliant 2025!
Apologies to my readers for yet another long silence. Editing and re-reading the last book in the series is taking up a lot of time and concentration. I have to be sure it is right. But it is on its way, I promise you! Do I have a date for its release? Not yet I’m afraid. But now is not the time to dwell on that. Christmas is coming up fast! So right now is the perfect time for ordering…..
Still busy doing more re-writes etc for this manuscript and finding some wrinkles along the way in need of ironing out. I know it will be all the better for it. So still a bit more of a wait, sadly, before it’s out there.
I am still struggling with the final touches to the fourth and final book in my Lexicon Series, The Creeping Dark. With so many threads needing to be brought neatly together in this final chapter for Alfie Tucker, repeated re-reading, editing etc is vital to make sure nothing is missed. So…. nearly there! Watch this space.
I love reading my books/manuscripts out loud – my way of making sure the story-line/dialogue/descriptive passages etc flow. It also gives me the opportunity to outwardly express every emotion as the action unfolds, thus reacting to every intrigue in my own special way. Do you have friends who love to read? Why not get together for a ‘read-in’, not only the perfect excuse to meet up, but also to interact over a story-line. You never know, this may lead to…..
I am often asked where I get the ideas and inspiration from for my story-lines. Well, for me, apart from the main story-line for my Lexicon series, many events created as part of the ongoing narrative have been trawled up from a stack of recollections/events/happenings from my past, where they have lurked in the depths of my brain, sometimes for decades. It’s amazing how such memories can be used/called upon in this way to add richness and, in part, believability…..
With the Christmas and New Year festivities now well and truly in the past, it’s time for me to do some serious work! Determined that 2024 will be a great year to create the opportunities for my Lexicon Series to reach even more readers, no matter their age, I need to ‘knuckle down’. So with submissions and posts at the forefront of my efforts, there can be no let-up. Let’s make sure that 2024 is a good year for reading, whether…..
